From the company that got the ball rolling on desktop 3D printing, the Method is Makerbot’s latest and greatest 3D printer. From its rigid construction and actively heated build chamber, to a fully removable, flexible build plate, the Makerbot Method aims to make the 3D printing process easier than ever before.

Let's break it down-

Solid Construction and Performance Components

The Makerbot Method features many components tailored for the ideal 3D printing experience. Underneath the sleek outer shell is a rigorously tested and structurally optimized metal frame. This ultra-rigid frame was designed with the sole purpose of stability in mind; less flexing means more consistent prints, more accurate parts, and fewer failures overall. Instead of a traditional spatula for print removal, you can simply flex the spring steel build plate and parts will pop right off - no tools required. Each of the direct-drive print heads utilizes a 19:1 gear ratio for high torque, an exceptionally long heater block for quick heat-up times, and are easily removable for maintenance.

The rigid frame does wonders for ensuring there isn't any ringing or ghosting in finished 3D prints.

Actively Heated Enclosed Build Chamber

What makes the Method stand out from the hundreds of desktop 3D printers is its actively heated, enclosed build chamber. Where many others rely on a passively heated build chamber using the build plate to warm the air, the Method utilizes twin blower fans to circulate actively heated air. With a maximum air temperature of 60°C (140°F), you can comfortably 3D print knowing that the material stresses inherent with FDM 3D printing is controlled, reducing first layer warping and splitting.

Actively heated build chambers are a rarity for 3D printers and a welcome feature of thr Makerbot Method.

High-Quality Electronics and Sensors Galore

The Makerbot Method has a 5” capacitive touch screen, which is an intuitive and easy to use interface for users of all experience levels. A small camera within the build chamber allows you to remotely check up on your 3D prints, giving you peace of mind that everything is working perfectly. For the times when you aren’t watching, there are 21 independent sensors detecting things like relative humidity, jam detection, material detection, temperature, and even automatic calibration sensors. Makerbot did their absolute best to make this a set-and-forget desktop 3D printer, enabling you to put your focus elsewhere and let the Method do its job.

For the optimal 3D printing experience, Makerbot has loaded the Method with nearly two dozen sensors.
