Likely not. Polyolefins really only like to adhere to polyolefin substrates. That said, polypropylene packing tape works great, and so does MagiGoo PP.

You should read the SDS and decide for yourself, but it appears that the listed concerns are possible fine dust particles + outgassing in the event of accidental combustion of the filament (which shouldn't happen during normal 3D printing). So otherwise it appears safe re: toxic fumes.

Short answer: no, it isn't hygroscopic.

Long answer (involving some chemical engineering): My own experience with OBC is that it doesn't really need any drying. This makes sense when you consider that polyolefins in general (polyethylene, polypropylene, and so on, of which OBC is a copolymer), are NOT hygroscopic. They don't have any polar repeat units or side groups, and hence nothing that could attract water.

If you think about the main polymers that need drying, such as nylon, polyesters (such as PLA, PETG, CPE, and some forms of TPE), as well as PC and ABS: they all have some polar moieties that make them hygroscopic, whether those are polar side groups such as the nitrile groups in ABS, or the ester linkages in polyesters, or the amide linkages and carbonyl side groups in nylon.

Yes. We would always recommend drying hygroscopic material before use, regardless of how they arrive.

@Guestx This would be difficult but not impossible. You would have to mitigate adhesion and warping issues associated with the glass surface and the OBC material.

I would suggest using Magigoo (specifically the one formulated for polypropylene). If you do that and keep the bed nice and hot (80 to 100 degrees), you should have no adhesion problems.

It generally won't adhere to anything that isn't made of a polyolefin (PP or PE). That said, polypropylene MagiGoo works fantastically well for making it stick to a buildplate. On glass, I used that and a bed temperature of about 100 C to make it stick, and I ran into no problems at all. Without the MagiGoo, I could never get so much as one successful print out of it.

Imagin3D and Evolv3D are different names in different regions for this manufacturer. The filament is the same. In regards to the packing tape, you can try wrapping the tape around the bottom of the bed as well. Any high-quality packing tape should perform the same.

OBC is UV resistant! We have not tested if this material can be coated.
