Do the Bambu Lab 3D Effect Sheets come pre-applied?

No. You must manually apply the Effect sheet onto a compatible steel build plate yourself before use.

Can the Bambu 3D Effect Sheet be applied to both sides of a steel build plate?

Yes. For best results, apply the Bambu 3D Effect Sheets only on the official steel plate from Bambu Lab.

Can other official Bambu Lab build plates be used for Bambu 3D Effect Sheet application?

The Bambu Engineering Plate (the other side of Bambu Cool Plate/High Temp Plate) can also be used for applying the Bambu 3D Effect Sheets if you remove the previous sheet and clean any glue residue completely, before installing the 3D Effect Sheet.

Make sure the surface is dry and clean before the application.

What Plate Type do I set it as once I've applied the Bambu Effect 3D Sheet onto a build plate?

Set the Plate Type to Smooth PEI/High Temp Plate and carefully follow the Heatbed Recommended Settings when using the Bambu 3D Effect Sheets.

Can I apply glue to the Bambu 3D Effect Sheet?

No, do NOT apply glue to the sheet surface.

Are the Bambu 3D Effect Sheets made to last?

The 3D Effect Sheets are considered consumables. To prolong the lifespan of the transfer textures, place your print objects on different areas of the sheet.

What maintenance tips are recommended for the Bambu Lab Effect 3D Sheets?

Keep it Clean - It's essential to keep the surface clean for the 3D effect patterns to remain visible. Grease can cause the patterns to disappear. Use hot water and detergent for cleaning, and avoid touching the surface.
Take Pre-caution with Scrapers - Pay close attention when using a scraper to remove prints, to avoid damaging the sheet surface.

Do the Bambu 3D Effect Sheets affect any printing workflows?

Due to reflections, the LIDAR calibration will not work as expected when using Effect Sheets. Either skip the LIDAR calibration sequence or calibrate with a regular plate.

Which materials are recommended for printing on the Bambu 3D Effect Sheet?

PLA and TPU are recommended.

Note that other slicer settings might need to be adjusted based on the printed model and the filament requirements. Reminder---select Smooth PEI Plate/High Temp Plate for the Plate Type in Bambu Studio.
For X1 Series users, disable the Build Plate Position Detection in 'Settings ->Print Options -> Enable the detection of build plate position' when printing with the 3D Effect Sheet to avoid error reports.
