What does ESD Safe mean

ESD-Safe materials are composites of common 3D printing materials and special additives that reduce the materials ability to build up a charge of static electricity. If you are 3D printing an electronics enclosure where minimizing the possibility of an electrostatic discharge is critical to long-term success, these materials are the prefect choice. Great for PCB carrying cases but also for industrial applications where electrical insulation is a necessity.

How to succeed with ESD-Safe materials

One of the best things about these materials is that there are no additional designing or printing considerations compared to the standard material. If you already have a printer that is succeeding with PETG, the most you will need to change for PRO Series ESD-Safe PETG will be temperatures. The additive that provides the ESD safe property is not abrasive, so a brass nozzle will work just fine, but hardened steel nozzles are also compatible. All the same considerations for bed adhesion apply from the base polymer, so your experience and expertise with other materials will transfer over.
