Drywise v1.5 In-line Filament Dryer
Bring Industrial Moisture Control to Your FDM Workflow
The Drywise v1.5 Inline Filament Dryer with Autoloader dries filament in-line as you print, ensuring optimal moisture control and consistent feed tension—even with 3 kg reels. Combined with the Pre-Heater, this bundle guarantees perfectly dry, pre-heated filament for stronger, cleaner prints and fewer reprints. Smart sensors, a rechargeable desiccant system, and compatibility with 1.75mm and 2.85mm filaments make it the ultimate 3D printing solution.
Key Features of the Thought3D Drywise v1.5 Inline Filament Dryer:
- No pre-drying required—in-line design dries the filament about to be extruded
- Smart material profiles and sensors deliver repeatable, reliable results
- No thermal cycling—preserves filament integrity
- Motorized loading eliminates spool drag for smooth feeding
- Closed-loop desiccant air path ensures stable drying conditions
- Compatible with PA/Nylons, PETG, PC, PEI, PEEK, TPU, and more
- Available in two versions—1.75mm and 2.85mm
Focus On What Matters
Drywise delivers perfectly conditioned 3D printer filament with virtually no downtime or pre-planning needed. This means you get more time to focus on what really matters to you, such as designing and innovating
- Technology: Fused Filament Fabrication filament pre-processing
- Interface: 4.3" capacitive touch panel. Guiding LED lights
- Filament Path: Guided input and output filament path
- Filament Diameter: 2.85mm or 1.75mm, depending on selection.
More Materials. More Possibilities
Drywise makes it easy to print with demanding technical plastics as it eliminates the guesswork from the drying process. With an ever-growing list of certified materials, just select the right material from the list and get printing, leaving the smart drying technology to take care of all the parameters.
- The presence of moisture in filament can potentially cause print failure and affect the mechanical properties of the printed part.
- Drywise ensures consistently dried filament and eliminates multiple drying cycles and material degradation.

Why Is Filament Drying Important?
Hygroscopic FDM filaments tend to absorb significant amounts of moisture from the environment to where it can affect the quality of your prints. The presence of moisture in the filament can cause lower quality surface finish, stringing, and oozing, as well as less visible effects like the mechanical properties of your finished part. As a result, moisture-sensitive materials will need drying before printing.
- Telltale signs that you are printing with wet filament include hissing and popping sounds, as well as inconsistent material extrusion and nozzle blockages.
- Commonly affected material types include PET, PEEK, PEI, PC, and most notably Nylon or PA-based materials.
Experience Active Drying in Real Time
Drywise will make sure the material is consistently dry, no matter the length of the print job, by processing the right amount of material at just the right time. This also preserves material integrity by eliminating thermal cycling.
- With Drywise, long prints have never been more consistent. While oven-dried filament will reabsorb filament quickly from the environment, tests have demonstrated that parts dried will retain performance throughout the duration of long print jobs.

FAQ
Do I still need to pre-dry spools?
No! Drywise filament dryer conditions filament in-line during the print, helping keep moisture under control in real time. Since it dries the most important section (the material about to be extruded), it's not mandatory to pre-dry the entire spool.
What's the warranty period?
Thought3D automatically includes 1 year of warranty coverage for their Drywise In-Line Filament Dryers sold in the U.S.
Will Drywise work with my 3D printer?
Yes. Drywise works with most FDM / FFF systems. It works best with UltiMaker, Raise3D, Anisoprint/Fiberforce, Markforged, Prusa, and Bambu Lab 3D printers.
Which materials benefit most from filament drying?
3D printer filament such as PA/Nylon, PA-CF, Onyx, PETG, TPU, and PC blends benefit greatly from filament drying due to their high hygroscopic nature.
