Ideal for all materials and required for advanced composites, having a fully enclosed build area is recommended due to more consistent air temperature, and therefore more repeatable, higher quality, and stronger prints. Materials like ABS and Nylon can warp and come off the print bed if the temperature isn't controlled properly, so the UltiMaker S5 Air Manager receives fan settings specific to these and other materials from the material profile. If the fan should be off to keep the warm air inside, the UltiMaker S5 will automatically do so.

When creating a 3D printer enclosure, the main goal is stopping the flow of colder, outside air into the build area. A generic enclosure can do an ok job of this by closing off the top of the machine, but this official Ultimaker accessory connects directly to your printer and pulls settings from the material profile in Cura. In addition to ideal fan settings, the UltiMaker S5 keeps track of how much the fan has been used to alert you when it's time to change filters, making sure you always keep your workshop smelling fresh without the need to track it yourself. Hinged action and clear material allow for unrestricted access to your UltiMaker S5

The UltiMaker S5 Air Manager adds a top mounted enclosure to the 3D printer, but still provides a clear view of the print head and build area from above thanks to the clear material used. In the event you need to access the print head from above, and for filter changes, the entire cover has a hinge that allows for easy lifting and maximizes availability to any part of the UltiMaker S5 even with the Air Manager installed. Created by Ultimaker specifically for the Ultimaker S5, the Air Manager blends seamlessly into the machine, creating a truly upgraded experience by adding features without sacrifice.
