What is Make48?

Make48 is a competition that takes place in makerspaces across the U.S. where teams plan, prototype, and pitch a new idea based on the specifications of a challenge. Here's the catch - teams have only 48 hours to complete the entire challenge! 

Check out this video from the latest Make48 event that took place in Madison, WI at Stoughton FabLab. For this challenge, teams had to create a new accessory for TREK and the cycling industry.

Why 3D Printing?

The Makerspaces where Make48 challenges are taking place are equipped with all kinds of tools, like CNC machines, laser cutters, waterjet cutters, and of course, 3D printers. 

3D printers make are an excellent way to prototype designs and ideas quickly and effectively. Since the teams only have 48 hours, 3D printers are the perfect tool for the teams to use to bring their idea to life.
